Triage: Support for First Time Offenders

Triage (funded by the Waterloo Foundation) helps women who have been arrested for the first time for a low level offence such as shoplifting and public order offences.

Gibran (UK) Ltd, in partnership with The Waterloo Foundation, has developed a pilot scheme to divert women away from crime at the point of first arrest or their first community punishment.

The project concept was developed in conjunction with Mrs Carmel Napier, former Chief Constable of Gwent Police, and delivered with support from a number of officers at Newport Central and Ystrad Mynach police stations.
